How to add the EU GARAN durability label to WooCommerce
The EU GARAN label is for a specific kind of producer guarantee. Before you look for a WooCommerce setting, confirm that the product has a commercial guarantee of durability offered by its producer at no additional cost, covering the entire good, for more than two years. Those are the conditions described for the harmonised label in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960.
If that is not the guarantee offered for a product, do not use GARAN as a general “warranty” badge. The legal guarantee of conformity is a separate consumer right and is presented through the harmonised legal-guarantee notice.
1. Confirm the producer guarantee before configuring a label
Ask the producer or the person responsible for your product information to confirm all of the following for the specific model:
- the producer is offering the commercial durability guarantee;
- it is offered at no additional cost to the consumer;
- it covers the whole good, not just a component; and
- its duration is more than two years.
As an internal workflow suggestion, keep the supporting product information alongside the product-information materials you normally use. This page cannot determine whether a particular guarantee qualifies; consult a qualified adviser if you need a legal assessment.
2. Keep the official label intact
The Regulation specifies which parts of the official label are fixed and which are editable. In the standard label, the editable values are the duration in years, the name of the producer offering the guarantee, and the model identifier. The title, legal-guarantee reminder, QR code, calendar symbol, and the multilingual producer-guarantee wording are fixed elements.
For online-interface contracts, the Regulation says the label is presented in colour. A nested display may be used online, provided the full label appears on the first mouse click, roll-over, or touch-screen expansion.
3. Configure eligible product data in WooCommerce
In EU Warranty Ready Free 1.5.0, open the relevant product and use Product data → General to complete the GARAN eligibility assistant and the product fields. The plugin uses the official nested GARAN label and asks for the producer/brand, model identifier, and duration. Its conservative artwork-fit validation helps prevent newly edited producer/model values from silently rendering in a truncated form.
The assistant is intentionally factual: it can surface whether the configuration is complete, ineligible, or outside the safe artwork fit, but it does not make the legal decision for you. Review the producer's guarantee and your product information before enabling the label.
4. Check what customers will see
EU Warranty Ready Free displays current eligible GARAN information with the official legal-guarantee notice where enabled: product pages, classic checkout, Checkout Blocks, and customer HTML/plain-text emails. You can also use the plugin's shortcode where manual placement suits the theme.
Check the customer journey in the language and theme context you actually use. The plugin supports the 24 official EU languages and can select a language from the translated product or variation, the active WPML/Polylang visitor language, or the WordPress locale, with English fallback. That operational check does not replace review of the applicable requirements for your store.

5. Choose Pro when the question is about past orders
